Our Mission:

Unity Worship Center C.O.G.I.C

Vision is to:

1. Worship God

2. Witness to the reality of Jesus Christ

3. Work unto God in service to others

History of Unity Worship Center C.O.G.I.C

UWC COGIC  was formed and founded by Pastor Christopher A. Stone on November 20, 2016 when the two churches that he had actively

pastorsed in the city of Burlington, North Carolina (Love Fellowship Church, Inc. and Rehoboth Christian Center, Inc.) decided to merge together

and form one unified church body to fulfill God's purpose in the region of Alamance County, the surrounding areas and throughout the world.

We also believe God wants to make you whole in seven areas of your life

In the biblical numeric system seven is the number of completion (wholeness or success).

In Christ Jesus your life can and will be complete in these seven (7) areas:

Spiritual - Being reconciled to God in a personal relationship through Jesus Christ our Lord and being conformed into the image of Jesus Christ as His disciple. (John 1:12, Matthew 16:24)

Social - Having meaningful relationships with other Christians according to (John 13:35) "By this will all men know that you are my disciples by your love one for another."

Physical - Being free from the power of sin that results in sickness, disease, addictions and bondages of any type in the physical realm. Christ Jesus died to set you free and by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

Mental - Being free from your past; wrong decisions, negative words, tormenting images, dreams, visions etc. God never consults your past to determine your future and He has a great future in store for you. (Isaiah 55:7-9)

Financial - Being free from poverty or not enough. "Poverty is not an event, its a mindset." God wants to bless you with more than enough so you can take care of yourself and be a blessing to others. Jesus became poor that we might be made rich (abundantly supplied). (2 Corinthians 8:9)

Emotional - Being free from the emotional bondages of fear, hate, lust, bitterness, covetousness, etc. God wants your emotions to bring forth love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)

Educational - Being well informed and always growing in the knowledge of God. God does not only want to deliver you from the penalty and power of sin, but He wants to free you from ignorance (not knowing). (Psalm 119:97-99, I Peter 2:2-3)

Our Mission:

We exist for the sole purpose of witnessing to the reality of Jesus Christ by a concerted effort to Worship God, Win the lost, Make disciples, Build meaningful relationships with fellow-believers, and Provide community resources for improving the quality of life-styles for area residents.

At Unity Worship Center C.O.G.I.C we believe the practical way God wants us to help people become whole (successful) in Jesus Christ is to witness to the reality of Jesus Christ through a concerted effort to:

Worship God - we place great value on God's Word (The Holy Bible), obedience to His Word, giving of our time, talents and treasures in His service, praising and worshipping Him

Winning the lost - we reach out to the lost or those who don't know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in an consistent and concerted effort to show them the reality of Jesus Christ and demonstrate His love and great commitment to them. We do this by proclaiming the good news about Jesus Christ; meeting the "felt needs" of people as Jesus Christ did when He lived on earth. We provide food, clothing, shelter and financial assistance to people in need. We proclaim the Word of God through audio/visual channels in society. We support home and foreign mission efforts and most of all we win the lost by lifestyle and one-on-one encounters.

Make disciples - we get new converts or people connected to the local church and in fellowship with like-minded believers. We train them in the Word of God and the Ways of Jesus Christ through biblical teaching; tools and godly living. We then send them into the service of Christ using their gifts, talents and skills to help others become like Christ. This process is known as the "Principle of the 12" which is broken down into two parts (The Journey and The Discovery)

Meaningful relationships - each member of the church or community of believers is connected with a team leader who serves as a "life coach" over a group of 8 to 12 members. Within the larger church community; these small "cells" or groups function with daily contact, weekly interactions and group exercises for the personal development and growth of each individual member. Interdependent relationships are formed and Christ-like care and accountability is giving to one another.

Provide community resources for lifestyle improvement - We provide resources for men, women and children of various backgrounds, economic status and ethnicities within the community in an effort to improve their status of living. We provide services in the areas of biblical, marriage and family, financial, single, children's, substance abuse, divorce care, grief counseling, educational, mentoring, etc. to assist people in need within the community.

Statement of Faith:

We believe in the Bible as God's only inspired, inherent and authoritative revelation of Himself to man in written form (II Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (I John 5:7).

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1), his virgin birth (Matthew 1:18), His sinless life (II Corinthians 5:21), His miracles (Acts 10:38), His vicarious death as the only sacrifice for the sin of the world (I John 2:2), His bodily resurrection from the dead (Luke 24:39), His ascension to the right hand of God as our intercessor (Hebrews 4:14), and His future return in glory, first to rapture His church (I Thessalonians 4:16-18) and second, to rule and reign a thousand years upon the earth (Revelation 20:6).

We believe in the finality of Christ's mediatorial work for the redemption of mankind and the present freedom of access to the Father (I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25).

We believe in the new birth as the only means of receiving eternal life. The new birth involves a cleansing and deliverance from the penalty and power of sin. It is effectuated through faith in Jesus Christ and repentance from sin (John 3:3, 5, 7; Ephesians 2:8, 9; I Peter 1:18-20).

We believe in divine healing for the total man, spirit, mind and body and that this healing is accomplished in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross and appropriated in the believer's life through prayer (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24; James 5:13-15).

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an endowment of power for all believers (Acts 2:4, 38-39), 10:44-46, 19:1-6; Ephesians 5:18). The baptism results in a deeper expression of spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23), a greater growth in Christ-likeness (II Corinthians 3:18), and a genuine manifestation of spiritual gifts (Romans 8:26-27).

We believe in the process of spiritual development (sanctification) wrought in the believer's life by the Holy Spirit through yieldedness and obedience. This growth involves a daily dying to sin and living unto righteousness (Romans 6:1-23), finds expression of a holy life (Hebrews 12:24) and will be culminated at the return of Christ (I John 3:2).

We believe in the resurrection from the dead. First, the righteous unto eternal life and second, the ungodly unto eternal damnation (Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29; revelation 20:4-6, 11-15).

We believe in the sacraments of the Church established by Jesus Christ our Lord: The Lord's Supper (Matthew 26:26-30; I Corinthians 11:23-26), and baptism by immersion as a symbol and witness of the new birth (Matthew 28:19; I Peter 3:20-22).

We believe that the local church is the physical representation of the invisible Body of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:42-47; I Corinthians 12:12-31). It is essential for every believer to be identified with a local church and to be submitted to the worship, witness and will of God for their local assembly (Hebrews 10:23-25, Matthew 7:22; 22:9-14

Church Leadership:

:Leadership Structure - .Unity Worship Center C.O.G.I.C.  operates by the "plurality" of Elders. Biblically, Elders are considered mature individuals (spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially mature) who are able to teach or communicate with others within the church (community) the Word and Ways of Jesus Christ. We currently have a team of ordained Elders and their wives who oversee the spiritual growth and direction of the overall ministry. The lead Elder and his wife is Pastor Chris and Nadine Stone.

The Advisory Board of Unity Worship Center C.O.G.I.C. consists both Elders, Ministers and Auxiliary Heads of the community. The advisory board sets forth the bi-laws of the ministry and oversees the ministry operations, policy and procedures, community programming and case by case problems they may arise in the ministry.
